A dark 5.1 mixing room with a multi-track waveform on screen and green level meters.

SunQC · In development

Audio QC that never gets tired.

SunQC scans your mix or stems for loudness, peaks, clicks, phase and channel errors — and takes you straight to each spot. It doesn't decide for you. It makes sure nothing slips past.

The problem

One missed click can travel all the way to the screen.

  1. 01

Listening through a feature or a season for defects takes hours — and ears get tired.

  2. 02

Not every broadcaster, platform or distributor runs its own QC.

  3. 03

Loudness meters tell you a number. They don't tell you where the click is.

What it checks

What it checks.

  • Loudness (BS.1770-4)
  • True Peak
  • Clipping
  • Clicks & dropouts
  • Digital silence gaps
  • DC offset
  • Centre doubled in surrounds
  • Dialogue off-centre (D stem)
  • LFE: wideband content, hot peaks
  • Phase
  • Empty, identical or swapped channels
  • Format (sample rate, bit depth, codec, length)

Inputs

WAV, BWF, MOV, MXF, AC3 and more · six mono 5.1 files (mapped by name) · DCP folders, SMPTE and Interop — including encrypted DCPs with a KDM. Full mix or D / M / E / M&E stems.

How it works

How it works in the studio.

  1. 01

Drop a file, six mono files or a DCP folder.

  2. 02

Choose the delivery profile, frame rate and start timecode — or take it from the BWF.

  3. 03

Pick what to look for this pass and run it. Results appear while it scans.

  4. 04

Go through the list: listen to ±3 seconds around each event in its own channels, mark it Confirmed or False, add a comment.

  5. 05

Export markers to REAPER or Nuendo, fix, and run Compare: Fixed, Remaining, New.
